Hi everyone,
It surprises me that a person can be made environmental secretary in a Government and has not got an empathy of past nature with regards to ancient forests.
Within the U.K we have an article in the papers that says that maybe it is ok with the Governments backing that ancient forests can be removed from the landscape and replaced with housing as long as the builders concerned replace the ancient forest with a multiple of new forest area.
As those that have grown up with nature, horticulture, green issues and associated careers to remove an ancient forest is removing genus, substructure, natural design and the capability of improving human life from new drugs derived from nature.
Replacing it with a new forest of domesticated trees and plants is not right to the benefit of mankind.
Although the push for new housing is important as we all know in the U.K. to reduce the struggle for living accommodation there is plenty of land held by builders and supermarket groups that could be used without using our ancient forests just to make things easier.
Our ancient forests still have plenty of information to reveal as history tells us.
Also the Government and builders in the U.K. do not realise the amount of public interest and support in saving our ancient forests .
In this era when everything is going towards green based projects and the sustainability of green areas within our global world it does surprise me this idea even got off the drawing board.
I also know that they say developing trees and woodland absorbs more carbon dioxide but our ancient woodlands have brought with them through time many secrets which enable us to live better and longer.
It is for these reasons that resistance through public opinion will prevent this happening.
Attitude of mind is all it requires to dismiss the thought of removing ancient forests.
Builders have plenty of land to build on as I have stated have supermarket groups. That is where the building of new house should be as I am sure supermarket group owned land is in the right places for housing development as they well know.
So here we go yet once again to persuade the powers that be that this decision to remove ancient woodland in the U.K. is wrong.
